Process 6a
For each paper in the PTLR Core Papers list(except Hall (2012), which has already been checked), we need to go through and check their 'core' papers are a subset of ours. Thus, if some paper in the list makes a statement like:
:"X (yyyy) provides empirical evidence of the existance of patent thickets"
or
:"X (yyyy) provides the seminal model of a patent thicket"
then we need to check that X (yyyy) is included in our list of core papers. Essentially, we need to check the lit review sections of our core papers. For the following papers we need a more detailed check of their literature sections. This check should still be limited to referenced papers that are reviewed directly in the context of patent thickets (i.e., papers that are reviewed in other contexts, such as understanding the patent explosion, etc., should not be included). In these more detailed checks we will be looking to see that we have relevant Up and Down papers, as well as Core papers. The list is: #Clarkson (2004) - Objective Identification Of Patent Thickets A Network Analytic Approach#Hall (2012) - A Study Of Patent Thickets - this paper has already been checkedin detail#Hargreaves (2011) - Digital Opportunity#UKIPO (2011) - Patent Thickets An Overview In addition, we should check the following non-core papers (found in the dropbox folder):*FTC (2011) - The Evolving IP Marketplace.pdf
