Changes

An initial complaint must disclose specifics about the patent including who originally owned the patent assignee or company that owns the patent works for ("ultimate parent entity of the assignee") and any party with a financial interest in the patent. <ref name="sectionsummary" /> Any change in patent ownership must be provided to the UPSTO. If the information is not provided, then the court will award attorney fees to the defendant, not the patentee. <ref name="patentlyoIA" />
