This page is a part of the McNair Center's Guide to Small Business in Houston section on Houston's Small Business Resources.

Education is one of the many helpful resources for your small business. The amount of time and money small business owners should invest into additional education will vary from person to person so explore your options.

What Is It?

Education for small business owners can come in a variety of offerings, from enrolling in full-on MBA programs to taking specific courses on search engine optimization and identifying target audience. Here, we focus on the smaller and more affordable education resources that don't require enrollment in a degree program.

Why Is It Important to My Business?

Not every small business owner needs an MBA; there are many informal classes and mentoring opportunities offered to help small business owners develop their marketing strategies, website design, sales skills, and financial plans. Despite the varying options of classes, programs, certificates, and college degrees from which business owners can choose, it is tautologically undeniable that every small business owner can benefit from continuing their business education.
