Ben Carson Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz was born on December 22, 1970 in DetroitCalgary, MichiganAlberta, on September 18, 1951Canada. He is of Cuban and Irish/Italian descent. He graduated from high school with honors, pursued his undergraduate degree at Yale Universitywas raised in Houston, Texas and later went on to medical school study Public Policy at the Princeton University of Michiganbefore attending Harvard Law School. He became director took on the role of private-practicing lawyer, advisor to the 2000 Bush campaign, and Solicitor-General for the State of Johns Hopkins Hospital at age 33Texas (2003-2008) before being elected to the United States Senate in 2012. One Cruz played a major role in the government shutdown of 2013 that strained his most famous medical achievements there included separating conjoined twinsrelations with the Republican Party. He has written several books on his career in medicine and his political views. In 2015, Ben Carson announced his plans to seek is now running for the Republican GOP nomination for the 2016 presidential election. His poll Cruz's polling numbers have fluctuatedshow strong support, though and he remains one of the top Republican presidential contendersis second only to Donald Trump.
