An initial complaint must disclose specifics about the patent including who originally owned the patent ("ultimate parent entity of the assignee") and any party with a financial interest in the patent. <ref name="sectionsummary" /> Any change in patent ownership must be provided to the UPSTO. If the information is not provided, then the court will award attorney fees to the defendant, not the patentee. <ref name="patentloIA" />
