Patent litigation is a viable and well known option for pursuing infringement claims. There are other avenues for challenging a patent's validity including Ex Parte Reexamination, Covered Business Method Reviews, and Patent Trial and Appeal Board Trials. The America Invents Act has recently established two new review proceedings, Inter Partes Reviews and Post Grant Reviews.
