I am delighted to announce that I have won a 2012 Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation to further my research in the field of entrepreneurship.
Award
A list of fellowship winners is published on the Kauffman site. Each year, since 2003, there are 15 winners. This year there were 128 proposals submitted, and I am the only winner from U.C. Berkeley this year, one of three from the Western U.S., and one of two from the attendees of the NBER Entrepreneurship Bootcamp.
The fellowship is worth $20,000 and this year's winners will be formally recognized during a reception on January 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the upcoming Allied Social Science Association/American Economic Association annual meetings in Chicago, Illinois on January 6-9, 2012.
Research
I won the fellowship for a proposal entitled "Rights to Valuations in Venture Capital Backed Startups: The Effects of Reputations". Details on this project will be posted here as it matures.
