Long story short, this extension has only been [https://github.com/padams/Open-Web-Analytics/wiki/MediaWiki-Integration tested] up to Mediawiki version 1.16. I tried so hard, and got so far, but in the end, it doesn't even matter.

$ unzip master.zip
$ cd /var/lib/mediawiki/extensions
