The Interagency Mentor Protege Program is an eight week, eight worshop program improves understanding of business financials and bidding, improves relationships between established and emerging companies, encourages an understanding of how to do business with local government agencies, and technical assistance. <br />

In order to qualify for this program, businesses must be currently certified as small Women-owned, Veteran-owned, Minority-owned or Disadvantaged Business Enterprise by The City of Houston, METRO Small Business or hold a current registration from the Port of Houston or the Houston Independent School District. The business must have been in continuous operation for at the last 24 months and have an average revenue between $150,000 and $4.0 million in the past three years. Additionally, the business must have a minimum of four employees. The business is required to commit to eight workshops and be able to identify the type of guidance needed to encourage development. <br />
