Changes

An initial complaint must disclose specifics about the patent including who the patent assignee or parent company that owns of the patent works for ("ultimate parent entity of the assignee") and any party with a financial interest in the patent. <ref name="sectionsummary" /> Any change in patent ownership must be provided to the UPSTO. If the information is not providedor updated when changes occur, then the court will award make the patentee cover the defendant's attorney fees to the defendant, not the patentee. <ref name="patentlyoIA" />
